In compliance with EU GDPR, our personal data storage and communication to sponsors, donors, volunteers, and friends requires explicit opt-in based on informed consent.
The only exceptions are data arising out of the execution of our obligations to donors and sponsors such as the tracing and recording of donations or passing on student letters and grade report cards to their respective sponsors and legal requirements such as data required for gift aid processing in the UK.
• No data sharing with another organization
The Giraffe Project will NOT share data with other organisations regardless of whether data is sold or exchanged for free.
• No acquisition of data from third parties
The Giraffe Project will NOT acquire data from Third Parties. This includes NOT acquiring the details of prospective donors and/or acquiring data to flesh out existing or prospective donor records
• No Wealth and Giving Propensity Research
The Giraffe Project will NOT conduct research to find out any information about a person’s financial position, property, previous donations to other organizations or their propensity for giving regardless of whether data is obtained from the public domain, or a publicly accessible source.
• No Profiling
The Giraffe Project will NOT engage in profiling, research or screening, which may include age, interests, health, or ethical or similar assessments.
• Very restricted use of public contact information records
The Giraffe Project may use publicly available contact data for existing sponsors or donors who have given consent for being contacted in cases where a consented communication delivery failed (e.g. email or address no longer valid).
• Best practice web usage tracking
The Giraffe Project tracks visits on our website to monitor interest in The Giraffe Project and our activities and to improve the content, layout, structure and findability and search engine rankings of our website.
