Green Pastures is a primary school on the edge of Nairobi's largest slum.
Excellent results have made this a standout academy, attracting accolades, and interest from parents outside the slums as well as within.
Giraffe provide a new set of classrooms, water storage facilities, and a computer lab and library for the school, and we now have around 140 children sponsored here.
Tumaini School - Mathare
Tumaini means hope and that's exactly what this school offers to many children in Mathare - a notorious slum to the east of central Nairobi.
Giraffe sponsors helped to build a beautiful new school here, with light airy classrooms, a library and a computer lab. See the carousel above.
As a result of a better environment and dedicated teachers, the school is performing extremely well. Tumaini is the first school we worked with, and today we have around 80 students here.
