Our secondary boarding school
GEC is a secondary boarding school, outside the slums, but close to Nairobi.
It was set up by Giraffe, and is now in the process of being handed over to a local NGO - Elimu Trust who will run the School in the future.
Young people from the slums often struggle in the massive state secondary schools, so we provide a safe, caring and friendly environment for them to grow and develop.
Our vision is to offer first-rate education underpinned by a caring approach designed to take these young people into confident and productive adulthood.
We have around 120 students at GEC and almost 50 more in other secondary schools.
